English club Chelsea have already submitted two offers for Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, who they see as their first alternative to signing Erling Haaland.

This according to The Athletic, who report that the Blues are intent on signing a top centre-forward this summer, and will move their full attention to Lukaku should one final push for Haaland not be successful.

The English club are known to have been targeting Haaland, and have made multiple approaches to his club Borussia Dortmund, but the Germans have not relented and have no need to sell the player after receiving a large fee for Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.

Accordingly, the Blues are thought to be resigned to the likelihood of being unable to sign the Norwegian, and are beginning to seriously contemplate alternatives.

Lukaku remains their second choice, and they have submitted to serious offers already as they look to prepare an assault for the Belgian striker should they be conclusively ruled out of signing Haaland.

Lukaku, for his part, has stated that he is happy in Milan and does not want a move away, while the Nerazzurri do not want to sell the player.

However, the Blues have already shown that they are firm in their desire and could go all-out to try and convince both the player and the Nerazzurri to agree on a deal, and will likely step up their efforts in the coming weeks should the signing of Haaland prove beyond them.
