Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is expected to make his return to Milan today after spending the past weeks in Denmark recovering from the cardiac arrest he suffered during the Euros.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Dane will have medical tests administered by club medical staff in Milan which will determine his future eligibility of make a return to the pitch for the club.

The 29-year-old collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s EURO 2020 opener against Finland from what was determined to be a heart attack, and while he has now recovered his status in football remains up in the air.

The midfielder will return to Milan where he will be welcomed by his teammates and the Inter staff, but there will be an anxious wait for the results of medical exams which will shed more light on whether he will be considered safe to return to football.
