Empoli are in talks to sign Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti on loan for next season, with the player’s salary the main issue currently being worked out.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Tuscan club have emerged as Pinamonti’s main suitors and that they will hope to complete his signing on loan this summer.

Pinamonti is thought to be a player in the shop window at the Nerazzurri, with the 22-year-old having been out of favour under Antonio Conte and not highly rated by his successor as head coach Simone Inzaghi.

The club have been listening to offers for the striker, with a number of teams in Italy and elsewhere in Europe thought to have expressed interest, although Cagliari now look to have ruled themselves out of signing him.

It is now Empoli who are the club pursuing him most closely, though it remains to be seen whether the Serie B will be able to make an offer which is economically to both Inter and Pinamonti.
