Inter and Cagliari are close to an agreement over a deal which would see Rossoblu midfielder Nahitan Nandez join the Nerazzurri on loan with an option to buy.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the player will arrive on a paid loan for a fee of €2 million, with an option to purchase him on a permanent basis for €26 million.

The Nerazzurri have stepped up their pursuit of the versatile Uruguayan recently, with the 25-year-old thought of as a potential replacement for Achraf Hakimi on the right after the Moroccan’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain.

Talks have been ongoing between the two clubs over a sale, with the Nerazzurri only able to take the player on loan with a purchase option and the two clubs searching for the right formula that would make this possible.

An understanding appears to have been reached, and a deal could be close which would see the move happen on economic terms which both clubs could accept.
