The new Irish youngster that is joining Inter from Shamrock Rovers has been discussing his decision to make the big move to Inter rather than to the Premier League where he also had options, according to a report in the British media yesterday.

Whilst speaking for an interview with the English newspaper, The Times, Kevin Zefi explained how different he knows Italy is technically to the football he is used to playing in Ireland. He certainly seems ready to learn and adapt though.

“Italian football is much more technical and tactical. They move the ball very, very fast, so I’ll have to adapt. It’s very similar to the way Italy played in the European Championships and I really enjoyed watching those games.”

The 15-year-old left-winger also talked about the other places he could have moved. He reportedly had offers in the Premier League but he was more inclined to head to Italy because of Brexit.

The Republic of Ireland are still part of the European Union so his paperwork and general life will be much easier by moving to another EU country rather than England where rules keep changing.

“It’s difficult, because England was an option for me and I could also have auditioned. With Brexit I thought that the best decision for me was to go abroad to Inter.”
