English club Tottenham are considering a move for Inter striker Lautaro Martinez as a replacement for Harry Kane should the Englishman depart this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the Spurs captain is edging closer to an exit from the London club, and that Martinez could be one of their top targets to replace him.

Martinez already has a number of suitors among top European clubs, and his future is not immediately clear with the Nerazzurri yet to agree a deal that would take him past the expiration of his current contract at the end of June 2023.

Further doubt could be raised should Tottenham make a move for the 23-year-old, which they could do should Kane depart, as they will be looking for a direct replacement and ready to spend big after receiving a large fee for the Englishman.

Kane has indicated his desire to leave the club on several occasions, an has given another clear indication by failing to report for training today as expected, suggesting that he could be serious about agitating for a move.

Manchester City are the likeliest destination for the Englishman, with the English champions thought to have already had a bid of €170 million turned down for his signature by Tottenham.

Should the Lillywhites be forced to accept a bid for Kane, they could immediately accelerate the process of signing an expensive replacement, and Martinez could be at the top of their shopping list.
