Chelsea are planning to increase their offer for Inter striker Romelu Lukaku to €120 million plus players, as the English club look to break the resistance of the Nerazzurri and convince them to sell the Belgian.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Blues are ready to increase their offer from the €100 million plus Marcos Alonso which Inter already refused.

The European champions are intent on signing the Belgian from Inter, having been unsuccessful in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and still wanting to bring in a top-quality striker this summer.

The Nerazzurri have so far resisted the English side’s advances, as has the striker himself, but the Blues are not taking no for an answer so far, instead looking to persuade the Nerazzurri with an even larger offer.

Alonso is thought to be a target for the Nerazzurri, with the club having asked for him in negotiations for Achraf Hakimi before the Moroccan eventually joined Paris Saint-Germain instead.

The Blues will hope that a massive fee in addition to Alonso or another player or players liked by Inter will be enough to finally break their resolve and move them to part ways with Lukaku.
