Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti turned down a move to Cagliari, with the 22-year-old still remaining in Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the striker was considered by the Rossoblu during talks between the two clubs, but that he did no want to accept a move to the Sardinian side.

Pinamonti is a player thought to be in the shop window at Inter this summer, with the 22-year-old having been out of favour under Antonio Conte last season and not in the plans of Conte’s successor as head coach Simone Inzaghi for next season.

A number of clubs in Italy and elsewhere in Europe have showed an interest in him, with Cagliari having seriously considered his signing, but the young striker did not find the Rossoblu’s offer convincing.

For the moment, it is thought that the likeliest destination for the 22-year-old is newly-promoted Serie A side Empoli.
