Former Serie A striker Giampaolo Pazzini has given his views on the upcoming Scudetto race, predicting that either Inter or Juventus wil win the Serie A title.

Speaking to Tuttosport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, the 36-year-old gave his views on the upcoming chase for the title, praising the Nerazzurri’s new head coach Simone Inzaghi and stating that he believes Inter could defend last season’s Scudetto crown but also stating that Juventus are able to come back stronger and wrestle the title back from them.

Pazzini appeared for a number of Serie A clubs including Fiorentina, Sampdoria, AC Milan, and Inter during his playing career, arriving at the Nerazzurri one season after the treble was won under Jose Mourinho.

Drawing on his experience as a footballer, he speaks about how he thinks the Nerazzurri will fare as they look to transition from Antonio Conte to Simone Inzaghi in the managerial role, and with the added pressure of being champions.

“Surely Inzaghi has inherited a very significant legacy,” Pazzini stated, “but by now he is an experienced coach, so I don’t think he should have any problems continuing Conte’s work. Then, it’s clear, when you have to fight to win, the management style changes a bit, but he has the qualities to overcome any difficulty. My favourite for the Scudetto? Juve or Inter.”
