Inter are preparing to move for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold to Chelsea.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 21-year-old has been identified as the top target to replace Lukaku.

Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Lukaku in recent days and could soon make an offer which the Nerazzurri and the striker are unable to turn down, with the English side ready to significantly increase their offer imminently.

Should the Belgian depart, Inter will waste no time in replacing him, and Vlahovic looks to be the player who they will go all in on trying to sign to take his place.

The Serbian’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June 2023, and his current club are hoping to renew him on a deal until at least 2025, with the Tuscans thought to be offering an increase in his salary from a net of €0.5 million per season to €3 million.

A number of clubs in Italy and elsewhere in Europe have already approached La Viola about the player and have been rebuffed, with the Tuscans being clear on a valuation now lower than €60 million, also considering inserting a €65-70 million release clause in a prospective new deal.

As such, the Nerazzurri can expect that they will have to arrive with an offer of at least €60 million should they wish to sign the striker.

Players could also be sent the other way to cover part of Vlahovic’s valuation, with Andrea Pinamonti one possibility and midfielder Stefano Sensi in particular thought to be a target for Fiorentina.

However, should the Nerazzurri be able to reach an agreement with La Viola, they should have no trouble making a salary offer which the player would accept.
