Inter have an agreement in principle with Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata to replace Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold to Chelsea.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Colombian would cost €40 million should he arrive from Atalanta, and that the Nerazzurri are ready to move for him.

Chelsea have accelerated their pursuit of Lukaku in recent days, with the English club not being discouraged by Inter and Lukaku’s rejections of their previous offer.

Instead, Chelsea have returned with an even more financially lucrative offer in the hopes that they can secure the striker for next season.

The Nerazzurri are ready to accept the offer and have started preparing for the future without the Belgian, planning to replace him with Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata.

Should Lukaku depart, the 30-year-old Atalanta striker would happily join the Nerazzurri, and is already in talks with the club about the possibility of a move.
