Inter striker Romelu Lukaku had refused a move to English side Manchester City in June, preferring to remain with the Nerazzurri, but he could end up being persuaded by the offer of Chelsea.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the English champions had made an offer for the Belgian earlier in the summer, but that the player firmly rejected the move.

Lukaku has always made clear that he is happy in Milan and wants to remain at Inter, while the club have given no indications that the player is for sale.

This is confirmed by the 28-year-old having firmly rebuffed the possibility of a move away during talks initiated by Manchester City.

However, City’s Premier League rivals Chelsea could be more insistent, with the Blues thought to be prepared to come forward with a €130 million offer after the Nerazzurri rejected their initial advances.

If an agreement is reached between the club, it is now thought that Lukaku could change his stance and agree on a move, no longer standing in the way of a potential sale.
