Inter are considering a move for Roma striker Edin Dzeko as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Bosnian has emerged as a key name on the Nerazzurri’s list of replacements for Lukaku.

Lukaku’s departure looks increasingly likely, with Chelsea having made a major push for him this week and both Inter and the striker ready to accept the Blues’ offer, and the Nerazzurri are wasting no time in looking to replace the Belgian.

Dzeko is a player who has been targeted by the club in the past and could be seen as an experienced and reliable option to add stability and quality to the club’s attack after the significant shock of losing Lukaku.

However, the Giallorossi are reluctant to part ways with a key player such as Dzeko two weeks prior to the kickoff of the Serie A season, and it remains to be seen whether negotiations for the 35-year-old could take off, and whether the Nerazzurri would seriously consider the player given his age and high wages.
