Inter have identified their top target to replace striker Romelu Lukaku should he be sold to Chelsea, with Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata the priority arrival if the Belgian departs.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are ready to negotiate with the Bergamo-based club for the Colombian striker if Lukaku goes.

Lukaku’s departure looks increasingly likely with a move to Chelsea in the advanced stages, and the Nerazzurri are wasting no time in trying to bring in a replacement or replacements for the 28-year-old.

Zapata is the player considered to have the right profile to arrive and immediately take Lukaku’s place, although the 30-year-old would not come cheap with his current club not keen to sell him.

La Dei are thought to have put an asking price of €45-50 million plus add-ons for Zapata, and would likely move for either Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham or Torino’s Andrea Belotti as replacements should he depart to Inter.
