Gabriele Oriali has asked Inter to take responsibility for the fact that he looks set to leave his role as technical manager at the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Italian would have considered staying on but that the club would not come to an agreement with him, and he wants to be clear that leaving was not his decision before he departs.

Oriali has been widely expected to depart from the Giuseppe Meazza this summer, with the technical manager thought to have been close with departed head coach Antonio Conte.

The 68-year-old has still not officially left the club, but he wants to be clear on the nature of his departure, and wants the Nerazzurri to take responsibility for the fact that he is leaving.

Oriali’s stance is that he would have been happy to remain in his role and work alongside new head coach Simone Inzaghi, but that the club preferred that he leave.
