Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata is ready for a move to Inter should the Nerazzurri move for him in the event that Romelu Lukaku is sold.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri have made the Colombian, his entourage, and his current club that he is on their radar.

With Lukaku looking increasingly close to the exit door amid an all-out assault from Chelsea for the Belgian, the Nerazzurri are beginning their search for a replacement and have identified Zapata as the best profile to take over.

The player likes Inter at a destination and believes that he could help lead the club to another Scudetto, and he has already agreed to join should they come calling.

Meanwhile, his current club Atalanta value the 30-year-old at €40 million, while Inter are ready to make an initial offer of €30 million plus add-ons if Lukaku is sold.

Additionally, La Dei would like to secure a replacement before they go ahead with a sale for the Colombian, with Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham their top choice.

Chelsea would allow Abraham to leave should Lukaku be brought in, and value the 23-year-old at €40 million.

Inter also like the profile of the young Englishman, but would only take him on loan, while Atalanta are ready to take him to Bergamo and would be the favourite to sign him.

It remains to be seen whether this delicate chain reaction of transfer deals takes place between Inter, Chelsea, and Atalanta, and it would likely have to be set off by the Nerazzurri accepting a bid for Lukaku, but for now Zapata is first on the Nerazzurri’s list of Lukaku replacements.
