Cagliari have changed direction in talks with Inter over a sale for Nahitan Nandez, and are now only interested in a permanent sale.

This according to today’s print edition of Cagliari-based newspaper L’Unione Sarda, who report that the Rossoblu will not continue talks over a paid loan with a purchase option for the 25-year-old.

The Nerazzurri had been in talks with the Sardinian club over the past couple weeks for the versatile Urugyan, with the negotiations thought to have been advanced over the player who would be seen as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi on the right.

However, the Rossoblu now are not interested in agreeing a deal on the Nerazzurri’s terms, and would demand a cash offer worth €36 million up front for Nandez.

The injury to midfielder Marko Rog, as well as the change in Inter’s situation brought upon by the anticipated blockbuster sale of Romelu Lukaku, are thought to be behind the change in Cagliari’s stance.
