Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen has returned to Denmark after visiting Milan over the past few days, but the club are in constant contact with the player and his doctors.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old will continue on his course of recovery.

During his time back in Italy, the midfielder met with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta, consulted with club doctors, and enjoyed an emotional reunion with his teammates at the club training centre.

There is still no confirmation as to what the player’s future will look like, with the prospects for a return to the pitch as uncertain as ever.

However, for now, the priority is the ongoing recovery of the Dane, and he will stay in his home in Denmark as he continues with his course of recovery, with the Nerazzurri being kept informed by the player’s doctors about updates through weekly contacts.
