Inter’s backup options to Duvan Zapata as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold and the Colombian not be able to be signed are Roma’s Edin Dzeko and Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are accelerating their search for a striker who can replace the Belgian.

Lukaku looks increasingly close to the exit door with Chelsea pushing hard for the 28-year-old’s signature, and it is reported that Zapata is the club’s first choice to replace him should he leave.

However, the club are also making sure their are other plans in place, with Dzeko seen as a reliable short-term option in the attacking position by the club.

The Giallorossi are not eager to sell the Bosnian, and it could take some work by Inter to convince them to part with him, but he is a player liked by the Nerazzurri.

Meanwhile, Vlahovic is also a serious target for the Nerazzurri should Lukaku depart from the club, although his current club are set on keeping him in Tuscany while Inter could face serious competition for his signature from Tottenham who are also interested.
