Inter are hoping to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, and will go ahead with a move for him even if Romelu Lukaku remains at the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 22-year-old is seen as a replacement for Andrea Pinamonti in the squad, with the latter set for a loan move to Empoli for next season.

At the moment, the Neroverdi are only interested in offloading Scamacca on a permanent basis, and do not want to listen to offers involving a loan move for the player.

However, the Nerazzurri believe that they can convince the Emilia-Romagna-based club, and they will make an approach in about ten days should no other offers convince the club to sell Scamacca in the meantime.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that they can make a satisfying offer which would see the striker on loan initially with a purchase option which is, for all intents and purposes, an obligation.
