Romelu Lukaku wants a move to Chelsea after considering his options, as he is no longer convinced by the sporting project at Inter.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Belgian is still in training with the Nerazzurri and still feels connected to the club, but that his mind is made up on a Chelsea return.

Lukaku is not thought to have pushed for an Inter exit, with the 28-year-old having enjoyed his past two seasons in Milan, where he is extremely well-regarded, and loved by the fans.

However, he now believes that it is time to go and seek a new challenge, and is committed to joining the European champions should they be able to agree an offer with the Nerazzurri.

The player remains fully professional and is training alongside his Nerazzurri teammates, but the question of how long this will be the case is up in the air, and it is not clear what he will do should a move not arrive.
