Inter are struggling to reach an agreement for Nahitan Nandez, with Cagliari only willing to allow the Uruguay international to depart on a permanent transfer.

According to L’Interista, the Nerazzurri’s lengthy negotiations with Cagliari are still no closer to a conclusion, with the Sardinians still reluctant to sanction a loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

Inter had hoped to take Nandez on a temporary arrangement this season before signing him outright next year, when they expect to be in a stronger financial position. The player himself is also thought to be keen to join Inter on loan, having reached an agreement with the Nerazzurri some weeks ago.

An alternative to Nandez is PSV Eindhoven captain Denzel Dumfries after the Netherlands international made clear his intention to leave the club this summer.

Seeking a replacement for Achraf Hakimi following his move to Paris Saint-Germain, it is believed that Inter are only considering Nandez and Dumfries,
