Inter have begun planning for life after Romelu Lukaku and will attempt to bring in two new attackers to replace the Belgium international.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, Lukaku is on the verge of a transfer back to the Premier League to join former club Chelsea, leaving Inter in the market for a new striker just two weeks before the start of the Serie A season.

The Nerazzurri will use the funds generated by Lukaku’s departure to target Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata and aim to have the Colombian international lead the line in attack.

However, Inter are also seeking a secondary striker to partner Zapata and new coach Simone Inzaghi could return to Lazio for Joaquin Correa.

Should a deal for Correa prove unfeasible, Inter may instead turn to Monaco’s Keita Balde, after he spent a season at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in 2018/19. The 26-year-old is out of favour at the Ligue 1 club and was loaned out to Sampdoria last season.
