With Romelu Lukaku edging closer to completing a move to Chelsea, Inter have drawn up a list of alternatives, including Edin Dzeko and Duvan Zapata.

According to a report aired this afternoon by Italian television channel SportMediaset, and as reported by FCInter1908.it, Lukaku’s impending departure has seen the Nerazzurri sound out replacements and they will revisit an approach for Roma striker Dzeko.

The Bosnia international was close to joining Inter in an exchange with Alexis Sanchez in January after falling out with ex-Roma coach Paulo Fonseca, only for the deal to collapse.

Inter are weighing up an approach for the 35-year-old again, but may yet turn to Atalanta’s Colombian international Zapata instead.

Should they land one of Dzeko or Zapata, the Nerazzurri will look to pair them with a secondary option and coach Simone Inzaghi may seek to raid former club Lazio for Joaquin Correa.

Alternatively, they will focus on Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca after he enjoyed a positive season on loan at Genoa last term.
