Inter will turn to Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata as they seek to replace Chelsea-bound Romelu Lukaku, but a deal is thought to be complicated.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Premier League club Chelsea are edging ever closer to bringing Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge and are on the verge of meeting Inter’s €115 million demands.

With Inter, Chelsea, and Lukaku all wanting to complete the deal as quickly as possible, the Nerazzurri have already begun working on finding a replacement and have identified Colombia international Zapata.

Atalanta are holding out for around €50m plus bonuses for the former Napoli striker and this could be beyond Inter’s reach, although the two clubs enjoy a strong working relationship.

A deal would also require Atalanta being able to secure a move for Chelsea’s 23-year-old England international Tammy Abraham as a replacement, potentially delaying Inter’s swoop for Zapata further.

Zapata joined Atalanta in 2018 and has scored 66 goals in 130 appearances for the Orobici.
