Roma Striker Edin Dzeko Open To Inter Switch After Receiving Contract Proposal, Italian Media Claim

Inter have begun informal negotiations with Roma striker Edin Dzeko and the Bosnia international is ready to move to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

According to Italian television channel SportMediaset, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri have begun work on finding a replacement for Romelu Lukaku as the Belgian star closes in on a move to Chelsea.

Inter had come close to signing Dzeko as part of an exchange deal with Alexis Sanchez in January, only for the deal to collapse, but they are ready to make another approach for him.

The former Manchester City striker has been offered a two-year contract worth €5 million per season and is open to making the switch, but talks have been unofficial and Inter are yet to submit an offer to Roma.

Dzeko, 35, endured a difficult season with the Giallorossi last term after falling out with coach Paulo Fonseca and being stripped of the captaincy.

Having joined from City in 2015, Dzeko has scored 119 goals in 260 appearances for the capital club.
