Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to conclude a deal to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez after agreeing a fee, but a move is not imminent.

According to Football.London, the Premier League club had struck an agreement to purchase Martinez for €60 million, but this was prior to Inter sanctioning the sale of fellow striker Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.

It is believed that the impending departure of Lukaku to Stamford Bridge could affect Spurs’ agreement for Martinez, with Inter reluctant to lose both of their first choice strikers in the same transfer window.

Regardless of the situation with Lukaku, it is also thought that Tottenham’s move for Martinez is not at an advanced stage and there is still some distance to go before a deal can be concluded, should Inter choose to sell.

Martinez enjoyed a strong campaign for the Nerazzurri last term, firing in 19 goals in all competitions as Inter won the Scudetto for the first time since 2010.
