Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, despite strong interest from North London rivals Arsenal.

According to the Sunday Times, Inter have accepted a bid worth an initial £60 million for the Argentina international, although this figure could rise to £76.8m with add-ons and performance related bonuses.

Discussions are ongoing to finalise a deal that would see Martinez follow strike partner Romelu Lukaku to the Premier League, with the Belgian star on the verge of completing a switch to Chelsea.

Martinez is set to mark Spurs’ fourth foray into the transfer market after they landed Bryan Gil from Sevilla and Atalanta pair Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero.

The 23-year-old joined Inter from Argentine outfit Racing Club in 2018 and has scored 49 goals in 132 appearances for the Nerazzurri, helping them to win a first Serie A title since 2010 last season.

Martinez also featured prominently as Argentina lifted the Copa America last month, netting three goals in the competition in Brazil.
