Inter are interested in Manchester United striker Anthony Martial as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian leave this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 25-year-old has emerged among the Nerazzurri’s list of targets.

The Nerazzurri are accelerating the process of sorting out their attack next season, with the club looking to bring in attacking signings even in the event that Lukaku is not sold, and towards this end they are considering Martial.

It remains to be seen how receptive to their advances the Red Devils would be, with Martial still having been a regular starter and the Manchester-based club not wanting to leave themselves too thin in attack next season with Marcus Rashford also set to miss several months as he recovers from shoulder surgery.

For now, however, the Nerazzurri are seriously evaluating the Frenchman, and could step up their pursuit soon should they decide that he is the right player.
