Inter are hoping to keep Lautaro Martinez on next season and still intend to renew his contract with the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the club will seek continuity with the Argentine and will reject offers for him this summer.

With the sale of Romelu Lukaku looking close, the Nerazzurri are aware of the dangers of losing more top players amid interest in Martinez from clubs in England and Spain.

To this end, the priority will be keeping the player on for next season and pursuing a contract extension as had always been the plan, with the 23-year-old’s current deal set to run until the end of June 2023.

It remains to be seen how much longer the Nerazzurri keep hold of the striker, and what the outcome of contract talks turns out to be, but for next season the determination is to keep him as part of the project.
