Lazio’s Joaquin Correa has stepped back from talks with English side Everton as he wants a move to Inter, with the Nerazzurri interested in him.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri have identified the Argentine as the right profile to arrive alongside Roma’s Edin Dzeko this summer.

Inter are stepping up the search for a striker with Romelu Lukaku close to the exit door, and with Dzeko’s signing now also appearing imminent they are focusing on a second arrival in attack.

Correa is thought to have been in talks with Everton who consider him a target, but with the Nerazzurri’s interest firming up he has pulled out of these discussions to prioritize a move to the Giuseppe Meazza.

Correa is an option liked by Inzaghi, with whom he worked for several seasons while the pair were at Lazio together, and he is thought to be a player who would dovetail well with other options at the club and be well-suited to Inzaghi’s tactical principals.
