Inter could face competition if they wish to sign Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, with Atalanta also joining the race for the 22-year-old.

This according to today’s print edition of Bergamo-based newspaper L’Eco di Bergamo, who report that La Dei are evaluating Scamacca as a target to replace Duvan Zapata should the Colombian depart.

Scamacca has emerged as a possible target as the Nerazzurri look to step up their search for attacking reinforcements in the wake of Romelu Lukaku’s departure for Chelsea.

However, Atalanta are also considering the young centre-forward as a target should they also lose their striker in the form of Zapata, who is also a target for Inter.

Scamacca spent last season on loan at Genoa where his form attracted the interest of a number of clubs, and it remains to be seen if the Nerazzurri are serious enough about him to compete with other major Italian clubs for his signature.
