Inter are actively seeking to sign both PSV’s Denzel Dumfries and Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez, and do not see the players as alternatives to one another.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the pair are seen as complementary additions to the squad rather than both targets for the right-sided position.

Dumfries is seen as a specialist in the right-wing-back position, and the Nerazzurri are now poised to swoop for the Dutchman, who is their top target to replace Achraf Hakimi on the right side of the pitch.

Meanwhile, Nandez is liked by the club because of his versatility, and could be brought in primarily as a central midfielder, though it remains a possibility that he could also fill in on the right having done so last season under Rossoblu manager Leonardo Semplici.

It remains to be seen if both players will arrive this summer, with talks for Nandez in particular having some way to go before an agreement is found, but the Nerazzurri will not let one player’s arrival stop them from moving for the other.
