Inter have yet to strike a deal with Cagliari for Uruguayan midfielder Nahitan Nandez, with the Rossoblu thought to have taken the option of a paid loan with a purchase option.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini is no longer interested in a deal without a purchase obligation for a move for Nandez given that the Nerazzurri are set to receive a substantial fee for the sale of Romelu Lukaku.

With the termination of Radja Nainggolan’s contract by mutual agreement having been confirmed, the Belgian midfielder looks set to join Cagliari, which could unlock a deal for Nandez joining Inter.

However, as of yet, the Sardinian club are not ready to agree a deal on the Nerazzurri’s terms, and now want the deal to include an obligation to buy the Uruguayan on a permanent basis before agreeing.

It remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri can convince Cagliari to unblock the negotiations for Nandez, though for now their interest in the 25-year-old definitely remains.
