Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has given an optimistic prediction about the attacking quality of the Nerazzurri after Romelu Lukaku’s replacements are signed.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, as reported by FCInter1908, the journalist gave the view that with Roma’s Edin Dzeko and Lazio’s Joaquin Correa added to the squad the Nerazzurri will have the strongest attack in Serie A.

The sale of Romelu Lukaku could come as a major blow to the Nerazzurri’s ambitions next season, with the Belgian having been a vital player and led the league in combined goals and assists as the club won the Scudetto.

Losing the Belgian’s contributions will be significant, but as Sconcerti states, if the club replace him well they can still have plenty of quality in forward areas.

“Dzeko is exceptional to play alongside Lautaro, better then Correa or Zapata,” he stated, “If you add Correa to those two it remains the best attack in the league.”

Less optimistic was Sconcerti’s assessment of the situation of midfielder Nicolo Barella at the club, whose situation at the club could be unsettled amid the ongoing upheaval already experienced by the club.

Aside from having been a crucial player already in his first two seasons at the Giuseppe Meazza, Barella is seen as a player to build around for the future.

However, Sconcerti believes that he could hard for the club to keep hold of, stating “I believe that the next problem will be Barella, who makes €2.2 million, less than half of Calhanoglu. In the long run, certain things lead to imbalances.”
