Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic has made a decision on his future with the Nerazzurri, and will stay for one more season and then leave the club on a free transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Croatian will not spread out his contract over further seasons but will instead depart the club after the upcoming season has concluded.

Perisic’s net salary of €4.7 million per season is considered too high by the club, whose plan was to either extend the player’s deal over further seasons at reduced terms or to sell him.

However, despite interest reported from other clubs, no offers were made for the 32-year-old which the club accepted, and the player has decided to stay for one more season on his current terms rather than extending on a reduced salary.

The Croatian is nevertheless happy at the club and will try to play at his best during the upcoming campaign, which will be his farewell season.
