The agent of Inter-linked Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is working on facilitating a transfer for the 25-year-old this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that Ajax are determined to sell the Cameroonian this window for a fee rather than letting him leave next summer when his contract expires.

Inter are thought to consider Onana as a major target in their search for a long-term successor to Samir Handanovic, with the Slovenian now 37 and out of contract next summer.

The Nerazzurri are thought to be trying to come to an agreement with the Cameroonian which would see him join next summer for free when his deal with Ajax runs out.

It has been reported elsewhere in Italy that Inter are close to doing exactly this, a scenario the Dutch club are trying to avoid, but FcInterNews deny any agreement has been found.

The Eredivise champions would rather lose Onana now for a fee than let him leave for free, and are hoping that he can be sold during this transfer window, with Lyon and Arsenal thought to be closely monitoring his situation, the report concludes.

It remains to be seen whether or not a move can be arranged for Onana this summer, and how this will affect the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of him.
