Young Inter midfielder Gaetano Oristanio has gone on loan at Dutch club Volendam, and he is excited to face his new challenge.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the teenager expressed his happiness to have made a move to the club where he will get his first experience in senior football.

Oristanio’s loan move to the Erste Divisie side was confirmed yesterday, making him the second Inter-owned youngster to join the club this summer after goalkeeper Filip Stankovic made the switch earlier on in the transfer window.

Both will hope to follow in the footsteps of young striker Samuele Mulattieri, who enjoyed a prolific spell in front of goal while in loan with Volendam, and whose impressive form earned him a loan move to Crotone for next season.

Oristanio’s words suggest that he is ready to make every attempt to make a strong impression as he looks to kickstart his career in senior football in the Netherlands by firing his new team to promotion.

“I am very happy to be here and to be part of this team,” the young midfielder stated, “Everyone is helping me to feel at home, I hope to achieve multiple goals here. The main goal is to win promotion to the Eredivisie. It’s a very difficult goal to achieve, but game after game we will all work to achieve it.”
