Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti is close to leaving the club to join Empoli on loan next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the newly-promoted Serie A side are one step away from securing the 22-year-old for next season.

Pinamonti has been thought to be a player in the shop window at the Nerazzurri this summer, with the striker out of favour last season under Antonio Conte and also not in the plans of new manager Simone Inzaghi.

It has only been a matter of finding the right club for the Italian, with a number of suitors but agreement yet to be found on a destination that all parties are happy with.

It appears that Empoli are the most suitable club, though the player’s net €2 million annual salary is the final stumbling blocks, with the Tuscan club still working out what percentage they will pay and the player considering lowering the amount to facilitate the move.
