Inter are concentrating on completing the signing of PSV’s Denzel Dumfries, then will look to bring in a striker.

This according to Italian news outlet La Repubblica, who report that the Nerazzurri hope to have Dumfries’s signing wrapped up by the weekend, before moving on to signing either Duvan Zapata from Atalanta or Joaquin Correa from Lazio.

Inter see Dumfries as their preferred option to replace Achraf Hakimi and are stepping up their pursuit of the 25-year-old, having agreed terms with the player already and are ready to submit an offer of €15 million plus add-ons to his club.

The aim of the Nerazzurri is to complete the transfer of Dumfries in the next few points, at which point the next order of business will be to sign one more attacker, with their list narrowed down to Zapata and Correa.

Contact has already been made with Atalanta for Zapata, but the clubs are too far apart on valuation as it stands, and it remains to be seen if Inter can convince La Dei to sell the Colombian.

Correa, meanwhile, is being valued at €40 million by his current club, though the Nerazzurri are not currently reported to have gone higher than €26 million including add-ons.

The Argentine is thought to be Inter manager Simone Inzaghi’s top target in attack and the club will try to free him from the Biancocelesti, though it remains to be seen if they will be successful in their chase.

Once the signing of Dumfries is completed the club will look to go all-in on one of these two attacking options, but in either case they will have to first come to an economic agreement with their current club.
