Inter are close to signing Lazio striker Joaquin Correa, with the Biancocelesti prepared to accelerate talks on a deal for the Argentine.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper il Messaggero, who report that the Nerazzurri are readying an offer for €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons, which could bring them very close to signing the player.

Correa has quickly emerged as one of Inter’s primary attacking targets as the club look to bring in key reinforcements following the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea, and the club are acting fast to bring him in.

Lazio are thought to value Correa somewhat more highly than the Nerazzurri’s offer is worth, but with the beginning of the season less than two weeks ago, head coach Maurizio Sarri is growing impatient.

The Biancocelesti still need to sell the 26-year-old in order to fund other important transfer business, and their coach wants to get it wrapped up in time to prepare for the season.

The player wants Inter and has communicated his intentions to the club and to Sarri, and once the Nerazzurri make their offer a deal could be close at hand.
