Napoli are planning to make a further effort to sign Inter midfielder Matias Vecino on loan this summer before the transfer window ends.

This according to today’s print edition of Naples-based newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno, who report that the Uruguayan remains a target for the Partenopei and that they have not yet given up hope of bringing him in.

Napoli are looking for midfield reinforcements heading into the new season, and Vecino remains a major name on their list of potential arrivals.

So far Inter have rebuffed their efforts to sign the 29-year-old, but they are still hoping that they can convince the Nerazzurri to allow the player to leave on loan.

It remains to be seen what the terms of their bid for Vecino will be, and whether this will be enough to persuade the Nerazzurri, but for now it can be expected that they will continue with their chase of the midfielder.
