Inter, Arsenal & Lyon Keen On Ajax Goalkeeper Andre Onana, Italian Media Report

Inter have identified Ajax’s Andrea Onana as their long-term replacement for goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, but will face competition for his signature from Arsenal and Lyon.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri wish to sign Onana for free when his contract runs out next summer, while his current club are working to transfer him for a fee during this transfer window.

Onana is the Nerazzurri’s preferred option to take over from Handanovic with the Slovenian set for only one more season as the club’s number one having turned 38 last month.

Furthermore, the possibility that the Cameroonian could arrive without a transfer fee as Handanovic is phased out makes him an even stronger target.

However, Ajax are not happy with losing him for free next summer, and they are working with his agent Albert Botines to facilitate a move away from him this summer for a fee.

Arsenal and Lyon are both interested in the 25-year-old, and could move for him this summer, although it could still be the case that the Dutch champions lose him for free next summer despite their best efforts, in which case Inter would move.
