Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has insisted that Dutch centre-back is not for sale despite strong interest from Premier League side Leicester City.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is a player who the new manager considers vital to the solidity of the team and will not allow to depart.

Several clubs from the Premier League are thought to be admirers of the 29-year-old, with Leicester the team with the strongest interest in making a move for him this summer.

However, Inzaghi does not want the defensive trio of de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni, and Milan Skriniar broken up ahead of the upcoming season.

The coach sees the back three as a necessity to any future success, and he has told the club that they should not listen to offers for the Dutch defender as his contributions on the pitch look to be too valuable to consider losing.
