Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti may not move to Empoli on loan as expected, with the Tuscan club close to the signing of Patrick Crotone on loan from English side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Wolves striker is ready to complete his loan move to the newly-promoted Serie A side which leaves their interest in Pinamonti in doubt, though they could still go ahead with his signing.

Pinamonti had been reported to have been close to a move to Empoli on loan, with only a few details left to be worked out to finalize the switch as of a few days ago and the move expected next week.

However, the Tuscans have identified Cutrone as a serious target and moved quickly, and it remains to be seen whether they would look to bring in two centre-forwards in this window.

It is not out of the question that Empoli would look to reinforce their attack with both Cutrone and Pinamonti, but should they not wish to do so then Pinamonti’s loan move will fall through and Inter will have to seek other plans for the 22-year-old.
