Inter are planning to extend Lautaro Martinez’s contract once the transfer window is closed, having already rejected an offer from Tottenham.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Argentine will be offered a wage increase to a net of €5.5 million per season to take him on with the club past the end of June 2023 when his current deal expires.

The Nerazzurri do not want to lose any more key players after the sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku, and are hopeful of warding off interest in Martinez and committing his future to the club, amid interest from top European clubs.

Tottenham have put forward an offer of €85 million plus €10 million in add-ons, but the Nerazzurri are not interested in letting go of the Argentine after already seeing two major squad members depart.

It remains to be seen if Tottenham or any other suitors can turn up the pressure in their chase for the striker, but for now the Nerazzurri have made their intentions clear and they want to agree a renewal with the player.
