Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani has given a grim assessment of the fates of two recent Inter signings, suggesting that Chilean duo Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal have been problems for the club.

Tweeting in response to an announcement about Sanchez’s injury problems causing him to miss more time, the journalist minced no words in calling him and his compatriots the Nerazzurri’s worst recent signings.

Both Sanchez and Vidal are undeniably talented players, having won trophies and showed their quality at top European clubs, but this is not the only factor to be evaluated when considering how they have performed as Inter signings.

Both were over thirty when the club brought them in, both are among the highest wage-earners at the Giuseppe Meazza, and as the circumstances of Ravezzani’s show, both have missed a significant amount of time through injury.

Whether the pair have come close to justifying their financial commitments with their performances when they have been fit is a matter for debate, but for Ravezzani they have not come close.

The journalist tweeted of Sanchez, “Alongside Vidal, Inter’s worst signing in recent years.”
