Inter could miss out on Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez this summer, with talks with his current club stalled.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the two clubs are far away in negotiations, and that the Rossoblu are no longer willing to let the player go out on loan with a purchase option per the Nerazzurri’s request.

An agreement had been reportedly been close at one point with talks having been well advanced, but Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini has taken the possible of an initial paid loan move off the table and wants to extract as much money from a transfer for the Uruguayan as he can.

The player, for his partner, feels that he had been promised a move to Inter by his current club, and could still pressure the Sardinian side into accepting an offer from the Nerazzurri.

However, for the time being the talks appear to be gridlocked and it remains to be seen if the right negotiations can take place that would see the 25-year-old make the switch before the transfer window shuts.
