Inter are not currently in talks with Lazio to sign Joaquin Correa, and contacts with the player have not yet gotten serious.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Argentine is a target of Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzgahi but that CEO Beppe Marotta prefers to sign a player of the profile of Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata.

The Nerazzurri are still searching for a second arrival in attack following Edin Dzeko’s signing, and Correa has been linked, but the club are still some ways away from being brought in.

The 26-year-old appears close to the exit door at the Biancocelesti, but there is no clear indicator that his eventual destination will be Inter.

Despite Inzaghi’s desire to reunite with the striker, with whom he enjoyed a successful relationship during the pair’s three seasons together in the Italian capital, Marotta’s preference is for a more physically powerful centre-forward who can compete with Dzeko.
