Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal wants to stay at the club for next season, and the Chilean has been impressing new head coach Simone Inzaghi and his staff in training.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 34-year-old could yet have a place in the Nerazzurri’s midfield after this summer.

Vidal has been expected to leave this summer, with the Chilean’s injury record last season and his high wages meaning that the club have placed him in the shop window and have been looking for the right solution to offload him.

However, an agreement with the right suitor has proved hard to come by, and the 34-year-old remains an Inter player where he has been participating in pre-season training with the rest of the squad.

The quality shown by the Chilean has impressed Inzaghi, and this could be enough to convince the manager that he could be a part of the Inter project next season.
